It has been brought to our attention that senior members of the management of LWRC International, LLC., (LWRCI) including Darren Mellors, Vice president of Business Development, have published allegations that the owners of Leitner-Wise Defense, Inc., specifically Paul Leitner-Wise and Robert Clark, have stolen their intellectual property and used it in the Leitner-Wise Defense High Performance Bolt. These allegations are completely false. Since they have been disseminated publicly by LWRCI, we wish to make the following known to all in the industry:
- Robert Clark, an owner of Leitner-Wise Defense, Inc., is the sole owner of the intellectual property for the LWD High Performance Bolt. He designed it and is the sole owner of the pending patent rights covering it;
- While LWRCI had attempted to obtain patent rights related to Robert Clark's design, they failed. This can easily be verified by the public records of the US Patent and Trademark Office;
- To our knowledge, LWRCI has no patent rights whatsoever covering their competing product;
- It is manifestly false and defamatory for anyone to assert that the owners of Leitner-Wise Defense have "stolen" any of LWRCI's intellectual property.
It is also worth noting that the above facts were well known to the authors of the defamatory statements.
